Step-by-Step Arrival Process
- Disembark & walk to immigration: Follow signs to Immigration/Passport Control. The walk from remote gates can take 10-15 minutes.
- Immigration: Join the queue for your nationality (Pakistani / Foreigner). Have your passport, visa (or e-visa printout), and completed arrival card ready. Processing takes 5-15 minutes. Biometric fingerprinting is required for some nationalities.
- Baggage claim: Check the screens for your flight belt number. Trolleys are free. Average wait: 15-30 minutes.
- Customs: Green channel (nothing to declare) or Red channel. Personal items and up to $10,000 cash are duty-free. Alcohol is prohibited for Muslims.
- Arrivals hall: Exit into the arrivals hall. SIM card counters, exchange bureaus, ATMs, and transport options are here.
First Steps After Arrival
- SIM card: Buy a local SIM at the airport (Jazz, Zong, or Telenor). Requires passport copy. Data plans start from PKR 500 (~$1.80) for 10-15 GB.
- Money exchange: Exchange counters are available in the arrivals hall. Rates are fair but slightly below market. ATMs accept Visa/Mastercard.
- Transport: Book a Careem ride from the app for fair pricing, or use the airport taxi counter.
